Department of Electrical Engineering
Department of Electrical Engineering received its inception in 2014 with a capacity of 60 students. Subsequently the capacity of the branch was increased to 120 which was a boon for the aspiring engineers in Orissa. Electrical engineering is a popular branch of engineering which deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism. The 10% of the total strength are allowed for lateral entry in the second year. The department has established several labs to experiment the basic principles of electrical engineering. The labs are supported by a modern computer centre with the latest PENTIUM DUAL CORE and an un-interrupted SERVER. The department consists of well-furnished classrooms, staff room, and department library. The overall infrastructure of the department is meant for the development of the aspiring engineers. The department includes many experienced faculty members and professors, many of whom have PhD in the area of power system and power electronics. Most of the faculty members are exposed to many national and international level paper publishing which boosts the confidence of the students more.
The well furnished department library facilitates the study and research of the students with the various journals and textbooks, question papers and study material. Our students are sent for in-plant and industrial training for more than one month in the summer and winter holidays. Apart from the academic activities, we also put efforts to search the hidden talents of the students. Workshops and seminars are the regular activities conducted by the department to make the students update their technical knowledge. We never neglect these activities as these help in the growth of the industrial knowledge of the students. Eminent personalities from industries and academic institutions accompany us during these activities to facilitate the learning of our students. This Department conducts a national level paper contest for the interested students every year. Our students are good at their academic results and are in good positions in various organizations and institutions like IIT and VITS.
