CIVIL ENGINEERING
The Department of Civil Engineering, established in 2009 with an approved intake of 60 students, is affiliated with Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Rourkela, and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. To strengthen technical education and research, the department introduced a Diploma in Civil Engineering in 2012–2013 with an intake of 60 students, followed by an M.Tech programme in Structural Engineering in 2015–2016 with an intake of 18 students. The department is committed to delivering quality, value-based, and outcome-oriented education through experienced faculty, well-equipped laboratories, and modern teaching-learning practices. It emphasizes academic excellence, practical exposure, innovation, and professional ethics to prepare students for successful careers in the construction and infrastructure sectors. Students consistently achieve commendable university results and actively participate in technical workshops, seminars, industrial visits, and skill development programmes that enhance their technical and employability skills. The department also promotes research, consultancy, and interdisciplinary projects in various domains of Civil Engineering, fostering innovation and sustainable engineering solutions. Through its commitment to excellence, the department continues to develop competent, innovative, and socially responsible civil engineers capable of contributing effectively to nation-building and sustainable development.
